Tasting - Crane Lake: Petite Sirah

Another Red Wine chosen due to the animal on the bottle - Crane Lake
Name: Crane Lake
Variety:Petite Sirah
Region: California
Country: USA
Year: 2010
Price: $4.59 - "You get what you pay for?"

Winemaker Review: “This wine is ruby-purple colored; notes of very fresh cherries and plums predominate the nose and flavors. The tannins give a soft, full mouth feel.”  - Larry Rocha, Winemaker **http://classicwinesofcalifornia.com/images/Crane_Lake_2010_PS.pdf**

My First Impression: Another red wine... the last one wasn't horrible like I expected, hopefully this one will be tolerable as well. This wine does look a little darker than the last one and we also didn't pay too much for it so I am still a little hesitant.

After Smelling it: It also has a light scent like The Little Penguin Merlot. There is a hint of berry but not a very sweet maybe blackberry or a black cherry.

After Tasting it: This Petite Sirah is more dry than the Merlot. It had a tart/acidic taste that lingered for a while. This Petite Sirah seemed more thick and filling that the Merlot. After eating some buttery crackers the plum taste came out.
